Be Business Social Savvy
Social media is set to explode in the next 18 months and according to Jay, if you aren’t in social media now – you are socio and economically disadvantaged! This is true especially if you are trying to build brands. No matter what industry you are in, social media can help you talk directly to people and listen to what they want.

Live Enthusiastic Towards the Dream
Candy Mok, Graduate of Dale Carnegie Course® C-52
Live Enthusiastic Towards the Dream
Recently, we spoke to our Dale Carnegie Course® C-52 graduate, Candy Mok, who has graduated in May 06 and after a few months of finishing the class; she has made a life-changing decision.
D: How do you get to know Dale Carnegie® Training?
CM: I read the book “How to Win Friends and Influence People” when I was in College and I found it very practical.
D: Why did you decide to attend Dale Carnegie Course®?
CM: It was my crossroad between changing jobs and pick up a new challenge- studying in intimate apparel program in order to become a lingerie designer. Although I earn a decent income with my previous job, I find it confused and lack of motivation at that time. I want to have more enthusiasm into my daily life and get a sense of direction.
D: How do you find yourself differently through the Dale Carnegie process?
CM: By applying the Dale Carnegie Principles and bringing the practice in classroom to my daily life, I found myself able to better communicate with my colleagues, establish a stronger and trustworthy relationship with my clients, have a clearer outlook of my goal and more enthusiastic in my everyday life. I also take an in-charge attitude towards challenges and criticism.
Candy graduated from The Art Institute of Seattle in 2003 and has been working as Marketing Executive at a printing company for 2 years. Although having a decent income and be able to meet many new people , she started feeling the lost of a meaningful life . Currently, she is going through Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Intimate Apparel at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University to pursue her design career.

Candy's BRA

WALA... I am truly proud to tell you that I have finished my first ever bra in the world this morning. Here are the characteristic of the bra:
- White
- 75B daily bra
- Cradle with under wire
- Made in Hong Kong
- Took 30 hours from concept planning to completion
- 100 times redoing on different parts
- Labour intensive
As you know that 10 weeks ago, I did not know how to sew... now, I made it through!!! Also, my peers said "it is a nice bra!!" and Kristina accepted the quality of my work.
In addition, there were so many people who padded on my shoulder and cheered me up while I was frustrated on the sewing process in MN004.
Lastly, I would like to thank my friends for helping me out during the sewing production.
Kristina- my mentor, teaching and patience...
Mimi- Foam sewing & thread cutting
Joyce- Redoing tips
Chris- Sweet smile and sewing with me most of the time
Gloria- Bar taping, wire channeling, watching me work while I was nervous on the sewing machine
Fiona- Fixing my Zigzag sewing on upper cup and hook & eye tape
Cow Cow- All the detail explanation on the sewing procedure

Thank you very much!!
Love,
Candy
P.S. I will keep up my good work and look forward to presenting my first collection soon.

SD3445... Done
Glad... we are done with the SD 3445 class by Dr. Ernesto Spicciolato. It is a wonderful learning experience in the School of Design.
All of my peer's designed buttons are beautiful, funky and unique. I like them all. Here are my Top Five favorites:
- Merry-Go-Around House by Yanki
- Black Flower by Lisa
- Leg by Marble
- Fly Chicken by Fiona
- Flower Yarn Button by Cyrana
Moreover, we have receieved many helps from the the technicans in the SD Workshop. Without them, I am not sure if Mok, the first buttonwith my last name would come out nicely.
Thank you, SDs!
