Be the head, not the tail

“History has repeatedly been changed by people who had the desire and the ability to transfer their convictions and emotions to their listeners.”

- Dale Carnegie

Dear Candy:

A key quality of a leader is the ability to "move people" to action. Here are some guidelines for inspiring cooperation:

- Begin with honest, sincere appreciation
- Show respect for the other person's opinion
- Ask questions instead of giving direct orders
- Make the other person happy about doing the thing you suggest
