Almost half of Britons feel "unpopular and lonely" without daily SMS

According to Right Mobile Phone research conducted among 3,138 Britons, people’s self esteem is ruled by their mobile phones.

Thus, Right Mobile Phone found 80% of responded cited that not receiving a reply to a text message damages their mood, while 41% said that without a daily texting they felt "unpopular and lonely".

While a full 82% of polled said they are looking forward to being given a ring by their partners and loved ones, 19% purposefully duck calls from their parents.

18% admit to have faked receiving a phone call or text message.

The study also unveils some interesting facts about LOLing. 9% of respondents said they have actually laughed out loud at anything they've ever been sent via text, even though 61% said they regularly use the term LOL while texting.

Furthermore, none claim to have either literally rolled on the floor laughing or laughed their ass off, despite using the corresponding acronyms. Although not covered in the survey, it can be assumed a similarly low number of British subjects has ever actually boarded a ROFLCOPTER or taken a merry twirl on their LOLLERSKATES.
