Why YUBZ Magnum?

YUBZ MAGNUM, a Bluetooth-Enabled Rugged Boombox

Right now, Bluetooth is, without a doubt, the most popular wireless transmission technology, at least at relatively low ranges, pretty much every handheld and portable computer released onto the market providing Bluetooth support. For this reason, the number of devices that take advantage of this technology has also increased exponentially, of the latest such products to arrive on the market being the YUBZ MAGNUM, a gadget that can be best described as a cross between a portable audio system and a Bluetooth speakerphone.

Designed for the office, home and outdoor lifestyle, as the manufacturer informs us, the MAGNUM allows users to enjoy hours of their favorite tunes on the go. Plus, they'll be able to do so in style, since the YUBZ MAGNUM comes in an elegant, black leather finish.

The device is apparently quite easy to operate as well, since all the users have to do is simply sync the YUBZ MAGNUM to a Bluetooth capable device (Version 2.0 and higher) to begin listening to their personal music library in 2.0 digital stereo Hi-Fi audio. When receiving an incoming call, the MAGNUM will interrupt the music session to alert the user, and, in order to answer, one will have to simply touch the Power Button on the device to access the hands-free speakerphone. When the call is complete, they'll have to press the power button again, and music is restored.

Since this device is designed to be used while being on the go, it can be powered either by batteries (4 x AA units, which provide up to 10 hours of non-stop functioning) or via the optional AC-powered cables and adaptors. Furthermore, similar to all other Bluetooth devices out there, the transmission range is limited to around 30 feet (approx. 10 meters).

The YUBZ MAGNUM is available for the time being just for pre-order from the manufacturer, the estimated retail price being of around 130 US dollars, which is more or less a fair one, given the range of features this thing can provide.
