Shanti/ Ashtangi by Madonna

Found this cool yoga song from Madonna... love it!

"Shanti/Ashtangi"

The most obvious Madonna song for a yoga work out is "Shanti/Ashtangi" from 1998's Ray of Light. The song from the albums is four minutes and 59 seconds long. It could be used during the yogic Sun Salutation, when the Sun Salutation is repeated and done at a moderate pace.

"Shanti/Ashtangi" by Madonna can also be used to encourage core work, in the middle of a yoga work out. Use it for a good yoga sit-up session. Or you could alternate some yoga sit ups with the butterfly pose, which is a fluttering pose that works the inner thighs. Who couldn't us a couple minutes of inner thigh stretching?

Lyrics:
Vunde gurunam caranaravinde
Sandarsita svatma sukhavabodhe
Nihsreyase jangalikayamane
Sansara halahala moha santyai
Hala hala
Ahahu purusakaram sankha cakrasi
Ahahu purusakaram sankha cakrasi
Dharinam dharinam sahasra sirasam
Dharinam dharinam sahasra sirasam
Vande

Om Shanti, Om Shanti
Shanti shanti
Shantay Om
(repeat)

Translation:
I worship the gurus' lotus feet
Awakening the happiness of the self revealed
Beyond comparison, working like the jungle physician
To pacify loss of consciousness from the poison of existence
In the form of a man up to the shoulders
Holding a conch, discus and sword
Thousand headed, white
I bow respectfully
Peace
