Something true Currently about the World I am living in...

Love Lily Allen's Songs very much... She is so Cool and Edgy...

Here is the song which could describe my surroundings. Enjoys!

Everything's Just Wonderful
Artist: Lily Allen Album: Alright, Still
Year: 2006

Do you think, everything, everyone, is going mental,
It seems to me that it's spiralling outta control and it's inevitable,
Now don't you think,
This time is yours, this time is mine,
Its temperamental, It seems to me, we're on all fours,
Crawling on our knees,
Someone help us please

Oh Jesus Christ almighty,
Do I feel alright? No not slightly,
I wanna get a flat I know I can't afford it,
It's just the bureaucrats who won't give me a mortgage,
Well it's very funny cos I got your fuckin money,
And I'm never gonna get it just because of my bad credit
Oh well I guess I mustn't grumble,
I suppose that's just the way the cookie crumbles.

Chorus
Oh yeah, I'm fine,
Everything's just wonderful,
I'm having the time of my life.

Don't you want something else,
Something new, than what we've got here,
And don't you feel it's all the same,
Some sick game and it's not insincere,
I wish I could change the ways of the world,
Make it a nice place
Until that day, I guess we stay,
Doing what we do Screwing who we screw

Why can't I sleep at night,
Don't say it's gonna be alright,
I wanna be able to eat spaghetti bolognaise,
and not feel bad about it for days and days and days.
In the magazines they talk about weight loss,
If I buy those jeans I can look like kate moss,
Oh no it's not the life I chose,
But I guess that's the way that things go,

Chorus x2 Ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba etc.

Oh Jesus Christ almighty, Do I feel alright? No not slightly,
I wanna get a flat I know I can't afford it,
It's just the bureaucrats who won't give me a mortgage,
Well it's very funny cos I got your fuckin money,
And I'm never gonna get it just because of my bad credit
Oh well I guess I mustn't grumble,
I suppose that's just the way the cookie crumbles.

Oh well I guess it's just the way that things go,
I suppose that's the way the cookie crumbles. X2

Contour Fashion Students from De Montfort University

De Montfort University (DMU) is the only school in the World that provides professional lingerie, underwear, bodywear, swimwear, performance sportswear and structured basques Design Program for the Intimate Apparel Industry. BA Honours Contour Fashion is their signture course and many Intimate Apparel Firms send their staff to DMU for Summer Training.

Moreover, some of my current foundation courses are similar to theirs and my mentors refer the class materials oftenly from DMU. Therefore, I have searched information about their core courses, professor's profiles and student's portfolios so that I could have a better picture on my future coworkers, competitors and work culture...

Here is a few interesting things I have found today...

1) Female Students Charity Calendar Sale

DMU Students are selling Calendar 2007 with featuring some of their classmates who are studying for a BA Honours Contour Fashion. For Details, here is the link.

- Cool... They are very brave and market themselves wisely. Maybe I should order a copy to check out anything interesting with their work and look.

2) An Online Community of Contour Fashion Students

http://www.myspace.com/contourgirls

- Wow... again, the DMU Fashion Contour Students... they have built a page about their program, self introduction, personal sharing, their current update and portfolio... I truly admire that they are a group of self-starters, creative lingerie designers and outspoken individuals.

3) Contour Fashion Program Outline

http://www.dmu.ac.uk/faculties/art_and_design/ug_courses/cont_fash.jsp

- If you are interested in getting into the Sexy Lingerie Industry and take it serious, here is a very informative and helpful site about their programs from DMU.

After the SD Metal Presentaion...

It's not all about the information we have researched, the brilliant photos have been collected nor the beautiful Power Point slides... I have learned something more important...

- Teamwork
- Interaction with Audiences
- Be confident

Thank you very much for giving me a chance to be your teammate, Ashley!

Good Work!

Something I just realize... thank God!

Glad!

After five weeks of school life in Poly U, there are a few important things that I have learned from the homework, peers and time between classes.

- I go to school for learning something I don't know and meeting people who are heading to similar directions, but not for complaining things that the school doesn't provide.

- I cannot finish all suggested readings, homework, organize the class notes, As in every quiz or project, be everybody's friends , have interactive relationships to all instructors, join the school's sport team, have spare time to hang out with family and friends... I am learning how to prioritize my schedule and try to make everybody "happy" with my "performance" in their perspectives.

- Be nice to my classmates; they are my friends who hang out with me the most of time now. Meeting them in person or online at least 22 hours per week, I just feel like chatting with them more than my parents.

- Utilize the school facilities as much as possible... As Vimla always says, "We have paid the tuition, should use it up!"

That's it for now... Ciao!

Communication Skill

“We must have a deep and abiding desire to communicate our convictions and transfer our feelings to our listeners.”

- Dale Carnegie

Dear Candy,

To achieve success in today's world, you need to be able to communicate your ideas concisely and clearly. Here are some guidelines on how to convey your message to your audience.

- Earn the right to speak on your topic by showing the audience that you are qualified to do so
- Express your message positively and with enthusiasm
- Provide the audience with the action you want them to take
- State the benefits that will be achieved from that action

The Dale Carnegie Course

I will use these principles for the upcoming SD Metal Presentation. May my peers be benefited by the information that Ashley and I have prepared so far.

Finally, someone leaves a comment in this blog...

Congrats, Lisa!

You are my first classmate to leave a comment here... Thank you very much for your sharing!

Anyway, this is my first bra shopping experience in Hong Kong. Before moving to America in 1999, all my lingerie was brought by my mother. Honestly, she did not know my most accurate size and I just wore them. Then, I started shopping for my lingerie by myself from Nordstrom, Victoria's Secret, the Gap, K-Mart, to Wal-Mart... I still remember that buying my first lingerie set in Victoria's Secret on my way to Washington. The pink chair, classy mirror, the draws... It was a wonderful experience that I'd never forget.

Also, Triumph is a good brand. How did you get the Gold Card? Was it easy to get? If you have any new suggestion, please feel free to share here.

Once again, thanks!

Love,

Candy

Shopping Trip for the Research Paper of Fashion Consumer Behavior Class

Just try to have a real live shopping experience in a local intimate apparel company for my research paper. Let's share...

Date: 22 Sept, 2006
Time: Around 1:00pm
Store: Triumph
Location: Shop 105, 1F, Pioneer Centre 750 Nathan Rd. Mongkok, Kowloon 101/ Hong Kong

During the break between the yoga classes around 9:45am today, I was flipping through the Chinese magazines to kill time in the Myoga Studio. I found an interesting Ad about Fruit Beauty, a new lingerie collection from Sloggie, German Intimate Apparel Company. At the top of Ad stated that they were the number one selling brand in Europe and America. It was a comfort-oriented, young and causal line.

At the middle part, Gladys (I have never heard of this new Artist in Hong Kong), said she liked the brand very much and shopped in their counter as soon as it was released...

At the button, it stated that 10% off to those who buy more than HK$400.00 and other discount.

After buying the technical rule in Prince Edward at 12:00nn, I walked in the Allied Plaza, where most of the stores were not open. Eventually, I crossed the road to the opposite Pioneer Centre. Checking out Private Shop (Shop 109), Embry Form (Shop 108), BONLUXE (Shop107), Petit Bijoux (Wacoal Shop) (Shop 106) & Triumph Boutique (Shop105)... I saw that Sloggie in Triumph was the most attractive collection to me and thought that I might need a new everyday Bra for replacement.

Emily, the saleslady greeted me when I first entered the store. Browsing around, touching the fabrics and comparing the styles... I was not sure about my current size after the dramatic weight loss couple months ago. Asking Emily to provide a bra fitting service would help me to find a right bra. Then, I told her which bras I would like to try on and she did give me a few recommended styles.

About 20 mins fitting period, Emily had solved my the strap adjustment concern, breathability of the fabric and the contouring effect... I was satisfied with my choice of bra (HK$250.00) with a matching brief (HK$85.00).

Before checking out, Emily suggested that I should look for another item that was HK$65.00 or above in order to receive a 10% off. I was pleased because she helped me to save money for the new item. Therefore, she showed me items that were HK$65.00 and surely I got another brief for backup.

At the end, Emily shared tips of washing bra and not to put mothball (樟腦丸) to bra draw because the elastics strap would be oxidized by the mothball according to the research. Plus, she handed me my new client reward program card and explained the discount scheme in brief...

Overall, I am very happy with this shopping experience. Very quick buying decision is made without hard sell feeling and pressure… the saleslady is friendly and helpful. My budget of the shopping trip is limited as I am a full time student now. I will check out their new collection if available and shop there again as needed.

Lastly, the reason why I did not buy my lingerie in other stores was because the list as below.

Private Shop
Nice Design Product, friendly saleslady, but too expensive (HK$200.00-800.00)

Embry Form
Price is reasonable according to the quality, slightly different than my style and

BONLUXE
Seems to not fit into my age group, price range and personal need.

Petit Bijoux (Wacoal Shop)
Very Japanese Style Bra… lot of contouring and padding... price is fine.

The Devil Wears Prada

Just watched The Devil Wears Prada, a very fun & girly movie with Sara, Louis, Amy, Rachel & Christian from UK Tonight.

After the Movie, I thought back about my career path...

- What would I do if I ever have a boss like Miranda?
- If yes, how did I get through it?
- Would I stay for the sake of the future?
- Would I be so brave as Andy?

It's quit Humorous, but True about some part of Fashion Industry.

I enjoy the movie!

Practice Sport in the Early Morning

Are you a go getter? Do you want your dream to come true soon? Why not get your day going earlier than the average people in the World?

A New Excuse to buy a Bra

Dr. Winnie Yu has assigned each of us to bring a good fit bra either from our models, friends or ourselves next Body Beauty and Fit class. Although the bra is not required to be a brand new one, the Bra has to be an everyday type as we will take the under weir out to analyze the relationship between the shape of breast, breast root and under weir.

Also, she said that we could sew them back by our skillful sewing workmanship and under her supervisory. Therefore, there is no need to buy a new one for this assignment.

Honestly, I really don't feel like to bring my old one because they don't fit me perfectly well after my dramatic weight loss. I Need to buy a bra now. Hahah... I will go shopping for bra this week!!

P.S. I have named “BraTech” as a new category. I will share more information about Intimate Apparel such as bra, underwear, sleepwear, swimsuit...

Shopping Trip With My Buddies in Class

After the Practical Bar Construction Class, Cyrana, Mimi, Joyce and Chris took me to Sham Shui Po for a cool sewing tool shopping trip. As you know that, I don't know how to draw and sew at this point of my life. They are my life saviors and get me the best deal for the tools. I have bought a a pair of fabric scissors, a pair of paper scissors, pack of needles for hand sewing, pin needles, measuring tape, chalk, air erasable marker, magnetic gauge...

Honestly, I do not know how to use them correctly and don't even have a clue about what they are. I believe the one year and half program will maximize my level of creativity, business sense, fashion forecasting, intimate apparel sewing and networking skills... Eventually, I will become a designer or buyer for my clients, friends, family and myself in this sexy industry.

Lastly, thank you very much for giving me cool shopping tips, pretty sisters! You all are very helpful and nice!

Funny Jealousy- Jill

oh......i think it's funny i think it's crazy
