Time goes by
What are you working for?
Who are you busy for?
Why are you all over the place without making any accomplishment?
Is it worth to live like this?
I was watching people in the MTR this morning. Some of them were reading newspaper, some talking on their cellphones about business deals, some playing their NDS or PSP, some still thinking about their dreams... nonetheless... they are trying to make a living that could bring them so called "Happiness".

Solve the problem
“When you face a problem, solve it then and there if you have the facts necessary to make a decision. Don't keep putting off decisions.”
- Dale Carnegie
Dear Candy:
Often by ignoring problems, we allow them to grow. Resolution should be quick so that problems do not become overwhelming. While the problem is still relatively small, attempt to decipher exactly what would be needed to have it resolved for good. Ascertaining this information before you begin is actually the first step to ensuring that the problem is rendered powerless. Acting quickly will also guarantee that the problem hasn't gotten completely out of hand. Here are a few tips on effective problem solving:
- Get all the facts
- Weigh all the facts - then come to a decision
- Once a decision is reached - ACT!!
Answer the following questions:
- What is the problem?
- What are the causes of the problem?
- What are the possible solutions?
- What is the best possible solution?

First Kiss from Great Expectation
Do you still remember when, where, who and how it happen?
Maybe not quite.
Great Expectation is one of my favourite movies. I enjoy the story, the picture and the music... so do Ethan Hawke and Gwyneth Paltrow.

Rei Kawakubo said
"Pattern for us equals design. Designs already start from patterning. You can start without usual sketches or design drawings. You can even make clothes without paper patterns though they are useful for mass production and to show people exactly how particular clothes need to be made. I express a concept to the patterners in words or through nuance. Design starts with how each of my staff interprets the concept. The patterners are in fact designing. We don't apply the usual patterning routine to our conceptual making process. It is just cumbersome."
Unlimited: Comme des GARÇONS 2005
If this idea does apply into intimate apparel design and pattern making, life will be much more easy. Right?

How to inspire others to do the best work
“When we are dealing with people, let us remember we are not dealing with creatures of logic. We are dealing with creatures of emotion, creatures bustling with prejudices and motivated by pride and vanity.”
- Dale Carnegie
Dear Candy:
What is it that inspires you to do your best work? Have you considered what things might be fueling the work of your employees/coworkers? Although unique to each worker, professional drive has a basic core to which everyone can relate. Discover your essential similarities, and use this knowledge to inspire others to cooperate, instead of mandating that they do so.
- Don't dictate -- inspire
- Don't direct -- win people to your way of thinking
- Begin with praise and honest appreciation
- Build morale and earn loyalty
- Ask questions instead of giving direct orders
- Give the other person a fine reputation to live up to
